3 months!

Can you even believe it?! Isaac is 3 whole months old already! We went and had his 3 month pics taken today (see below) and he was just a doll! He had a minor obsession with chewing on his hand for some of them! Looking back to his 2 week professional pics, I can't believe how big he's gotten and especially how chubby!!! I weighed him this week and he is approximately 15.5pounds! Babies are supposed to double their weight by 6 months of age, well, that would mean that Isaac needed to reach 14.5 pounds by June 27... well, he seems to be doing okay as far as thriving goes. This week was a big week... Wednesday, Goddaddy Grant played in the first round of the MN state basketball tournament. Daddy had clinic and was on call, so mommy braved the car trip alone with Isaac... well, I was only alone until Gustavus where we picked up auntie Molly for help!!! Isaac was so great at the game- he was actually enamored by the action!! He had a super great time seeing grandma and grandpa, greatgrandpa Cook, greatgrandma Marlene, uncles Tommy and Eric, great auntie Anita, cousin Lauren, Godmommy Molly and most specially Goddaddy Grant. He played so well at his game but they sadly lost to DeLaSalle. Isaac was very glad he was at the game and was able to give Grant a hug and kiss after the game.

The rest of this week has been good as well. Isaac continues to thrive at daycare and has even started to be somewhat happy in the evenings with mommy and daddy! His sleeping is about the same, going to bed at 8, getting up around 1 and 4 and most of the time 630 although on the rare day, mommy has to wake Isaac up to go to daycare (super hard to do!) This coming week will be trying for mommy and daddy. Daddy is on call tomorrow (Sun), mommy is on call Tue, daddy is on call Wed, Mommy takes her boards Fri and Sat, and mommy is on call next Sun (Easter- good thing Isaac is too little to hunt for Easter eggs or else mommy would be really sad).... after all of that fun, daddy starts the inpatient team rotation in a week (the worst one)! Everyone send good wishes and thoughts!!!

Today, daddy was a super star and raked the yard, and cleaned up POUNDS of doggie do (apparently there was not a place you could step to avoid it all- yuck!)

Take care everyone, hope to see you soon! Remember, you can right click on the pics and save them to your computers!

daycare...

I know, I know, it seems like forever since I have updated this, but lets be real, life has been very crazy as of late! After the baptism, mommy had 1 week left at home with Isaac :( Last monday, 3/8, was mommy's first day back at work. Daddy was so nice though and took that week off to make the transition easier for mommy. Isaac of course had a fantastic time with his daddy. On Friday (3/12) we drove to Little FAlls for Grant's section semi-final game on Saturday. YAY they won!!! Isaac was fantastic at the basketball game! He even got to meet a few more Bell family memebers. The rest of the weekend was just great as we got to relax and hang out with family (and not be in Sioux FAlls)!!

Big news last Wednesday... Isaac, wednesday night, slept from 8pm-1am! then got up again at 5am thus eliminating the 10pm feeding! How amazing it is to get a bigger chunk of sleep (all of you moms will understand me!) Sunday night was not so great, but he did sleep in the car the entire drive from Little Falls to Sioux FAlls almost. He did resume his fantastic sleeping again Monday night! He even slept well last night for daddy when mommy was on call (a first!)

So, finally, the true big news... DAYCARE :( Isaac started daycare on Monday. Her name is Robin. She has a 10 year old daughter (Casey) and a 5 year old son (cole) of her own, then watches a 2.5 year old (Graham) and another baby who is 2 months older than Isaac (Tyson). So far, he has been a complete gem at daycare! He and Tyson just like staring at each other! She changes their diapers at the same time, and yesterday they took to holding hands during the changes (boys!) everyone has said that daycare might help break his fussy funk, and we are still hopeful= of note, she knows about the bouncing on the ball and HAS NOT had to employ it= that means progress! I feel so blessed that we have found what seems like a perfect situation for us. There may be issues on occassion with pick up times, but we will just have to make it work I guess! PS she texts me throughout the day even to update me with how he's doing, and she takes pics too!

I will TRY to update some pics tonight, but daddy is on call, so I make no promises! I slept maybe 15 minutes on call last night (got to vaginally deliver my first set of twins though along with 2 other vaginal deliveries and a c-section for twins- so I can't really complain!) and I am very tired and will be going to bed with Isaac at 8!

we love you all!

Isaac is 2 months and was baptised!!

It was truly a big week in our lives. Isaac turned 2 months on Saturday and celebrated with pretty much everybody because on Sunday he was baptised. Friday night, great grandma marlene and Ron and Nancy got to Sioux Falls. On Saturday, Steve, Julie, Grant, Molly, and greatgrandpa Cook all got here. Everyone stayed at our house except Ron and Nancy--- very busy house! We ate lots of good food and all had a great time taking turns holding the little guy! He just LOVED the attention! I think Mommy only got to hold him to feed him (good thing I am the meal ticket!)

Sunday morning we had a very nice baptism. Peter, Shannon, Daisy and Joe also joined us at the church for the occassion. Isaac did a great job throughout the service and didn't even cry when they poured the water on his head. Grant is Isaac's Godfather and Molly is Isaac's Godmother. They both did a wonderful job too and looked very proud to have the honor. We are very blessed that they agreed to take on the role! We had a very nice reception at our house afterwards and received very nice gifts!

Monday was Isaac's 2 month doctor's appointment. He weighed 12#10ounces and was 23 3/4 inches long. He is now in the 75th%tile for both (at his 2 week appointment he was only in the 25th%tile!)... this basically means that he is a super good eater (or his mommy makes very fattening milk!) He is doing all of the developmental things he is supposed to (but we already knew he was advanced!) He had to get 3 shots and DID NOT LIKE THEM ONE BIT! Monday night, all my sweet little boy wanted to do was cuddle. I know, I know, sounds like his norm, but this was different. He had a different cry then I have heard before (like he was hurt) and just was content snuggling and DID NOT need to be bounced! Poor guy!

Tuesday afternoon we went for another walk on the bike path- mommy was even able to run while pushing a sleeping Isaac! Tomorrow, Alice and Anne are coming over again for a visit! Hopefully Isaac is in a better mood then he has been for their other visits!

Monday, mommy goes back to work :( Luckily daddy is taking next week off so mommy won't have to feel bad calling every 5 minutes to check in (I think i would annoy the day care lady- but Christopher has to just deal with it!!!!) Very fun though, next Friday, we are going back to Little Falls to watch Goddaddy Grant play basketball!

Some of the pics... bandaided legs after shots... grandpa Steve showing off his paint job (that matched his baptism shirt)... Ripley and Isaac playing together and many baptism pics!

Enjoy!
