4 months old!

Yes yes yes, it has been awhile... a lot has happened... following Easter, daddy was sick on a day when mommy had to work and Grandpa Steve came to the rescue- driving all the way to Sioux Falls on a sat am only to leave at noon on Sunday- very fantastic! This last weekend, Grandma Julie came down for the weekend because daddy had to round all weekend and mommy worked on Saturday, also very great and appreciated! Some things that Isaac has done this last few weeks... A week and a half ago Isaac puked for the first time. Daddy was on call and had just left (around 1 am) and mommy was up feeding Isaac. When I sat him up he looked at me and puked 3 LARGE projecting vomits all over Mommy- then he looked at me again and smiled then topped it off with yet another large puke! After that he was wide awake giggling and laughing! That was then over- kinda strange- never had a fever and acted just fine the next day! He definately grabs and plays with all of his toys now... and, of course, they all go right to his mouth! Very very cute! He is also getting very strong and doing a great job of sitting up on his own. Obviously not perfect, but very impressive for his age! (Think the bumbo chair is to thank!) He had his first rice cereal last week which was the absolute funniest and cutest thing EVER! He is definately improving and learning how to eat but don't get me wrong lots still come out of the mouth while eating! He also, drum roll please, slept through the night. Last wed he slept from 8:30 to 4:30 and then Thur slept 8 to 6:30!!! Of course, after that it went down hill quickly Friday and Saturday nights, but hey at least we know he CAN do it! He has also started to not sleep so well for daddy when mommy is not home :( yup, perfect, a momma's boy!!!!!!!!!! No, he still hasn't mastered rolling over, but don't you worry, mommy is trying trying trying EVERY day!!! We also had a play date a week ago with Alice- each time gets a little better and yes, Isaac is catching up in size! Oh what else, did I mention how wonderful he makes life?! Our lives, Christopher and mine, have been very difficult (well, mostly Christopher's) and having a sweet cuddly baby to snuggle really REALLY helps! Oh, looking at the pics, you'll also notice that he has learned how to really munch on his hands, stick his tongue out and stick his lower lip out--- if you look closely, he even accidently picks his nose as well!

and yes, i realize everything above is a complete rambling, but hey, that is life!

Happy Easter

So, for Isaac's first Easter, mommy is at work and daddy is home with Isaac... Isaac, who has regressed and is having a REALLY BAD DAY :( This follows last night's really bad night! I guess everyone is entitled to have such bad days, but we were finally getting used to our more happy baby and I don't think we are quite ready to have bad ones.

Aside from today's bad day, he has started to develop other new things... He has definately found both hands now and, very cute-ly, folds his hands together, fingers intertwined and just holds them like that. At times, it is as though he feels that his hands are "stuck" there, as he will try to unsuccessfully pull them apart- okay, he does eventually figure out that he is the one "tying" his hands together- pretty funny! He will also try to put them BOTH in his mouth simultaneously!! Also, he will put your fingers into his mouth if they are anywhere near his face as well. He, right now, is usually covered in saliva and bubbles (aptly named nick-name from daddy from birth "bubbles") and he is SUPER drooly... we don't feel any teeth coming in (thank goodness for mommy), but soon it is inevitable!

Another cute thing he has learned... the bottom pouty lip! It sticks out so far!!! (pics to be posted soon).... it is especially funny to watch him stick it out and threaten to cry and then make him laugh while the lip is out! Such confusion on his face when that happens!

He is finally getting over his really nasty butt rash! Bordeoux's butt cream is just not as great as desitin! That rash really made changing diapers not so pleasant.
