The last week...

So, we are home from our trip and from the wonderful wedding in Southport, NC (pic to be posted soon) and of course came right back to Little Falls to see the little guy. He has, of course, grown, but luckily not too much!!! He, however, has acquired some bad habits... biting and humping! So not cool!! Today we are headed back to Burnsville, with Ripley, so we can pick up our caps and gowns for Saturday. Tonight we have a graduation party with the whole med school, and tomorrow we have a Duluth graduation party- so exciting! We are, obviously, looking forward to Saturday as this is our last week as students- EVER!

our home!

So, our home... 1963 ranch style, east side of Sioux Falls. 2030 square feet. 3bed upstairs (1 nonlegal bed downstairs) and 2 baths (Steve, however, gets the pleasure of moving in with us to update them some!!) The fireplace is real and notice the stellar beams in the dining room! There is a good sized deck which is partially covered, the yard is fenced in, and notice the very nice shed (soon-to-be-possibly dog home!) in the backyard! We will post more pics as we "play" with it! PS... if you look closely at the fixtures and handles on the cupboards in the kitchen- next time you see them they will have morphed into something a little more updated!

Ripley... April

This is Ripley, age ~7 weeks- isn't he the cutest! The one on the right shows him with his green monkey (he also has a favorite beaver that he loves to carry around!) We get to see him again in 2 days!!

Just the beginning...

So, as most of you do know, Heather finished classes March 20th and Christopher finished April 3! We honestly can't believe that it is all finally over, but are sure enjoying the time off. March 19th was the coveted "Match Day" and, drum roll please, we are heading to Sioux Falls for our family medicine residency program (so, maybe we weren't entirely surprised when we opened the envelope, but it was still a very exciting day!) Side note on match day... Stacy (aka mama duck- one of our classmates and bridesmaids in our wedding) is going into anesthesia and is moving very close to us in Omaha- so we are very excited about that!! Another one of our Duluthian classmates is also coming with us to Sioux Falls!

April 3, once Christopher finished his last day, we headed to Crofton, NE to celebrate with Anne and Mitch Hofer- for they are expecting their first baby- due very close to Christopher's birthday in November! It was a super fun night...

The rest of that weekend, we were joined in Sioux Falls by Julie and Steve-- house hunting weekend! Very long and stressful story leading fully into the next Thursday... we got our house!! Plus, a few short hours after that, following a car ride to Little Falls, we got Ripley!!! He is the most amazing yellow lab EVER!! (He will officially be 9 weeks old April 25.)

However, we had to leave Ripley in Little Falls April 15 because on April 17 we flew with Ron and Nancy to Longboat Key, FL to visit Charlie and Jim (Nancy's brother.) In Florida, we experienced top of the line dining (Charlie and Jim are pros for sure), we kayaked in the ocean, we saw 2 manatees while kayaking, and we got a limo ride to the most amazing sprawl of a brunch you can ever imagine!!! Yesterday, April 23, we rented a car and began our drive to Oak Island, NC. Last night we spent the night in Jacksonville, FL and tonight we are in Georgetown, SC! Along the way we have seen way too many Cracker Barrels (had breakfast there yesterday) and even stopped for some mini golf today just outside of Charleston, SC! Tomorrow it is off to Oak Island for Rachel and Jays wedding--- coincidentally on our 6 month wedding anniversary!!
